---- Reported by andrewdavison62 2006-02-19 19:47:12 ---- The JOGL utility class FPSAnimator uses java.util.Timer.schedule() to trigger redraws of drawables. schedule() suffers from drift so that it's fairly useless for triggering accurate updates for frame rates above 50 FPS. Please add a flag to FPSAnimator's constructor to allow the optional use of java.util.Timer.scheduleAtFixedRate(), which performs better at higher FPSs. The code changes would occur in FPSAnimator's start() method. ---- Additional Comments From kbr 2006-02-21 02:04:48 ---- Added new constructors taking fixed-rate scheduling flag. Defaults to false. Seems to help FPSAnimator reach higher framerate targets. Unclear whether the flag will cause excessive CPU consumption. --- Bug imported by sgothel@jausoft.com 2010-03-24 07:48 EDT --- This bug was previously known as _bug_ 205 at https://jogl.dev.java.net/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=205
