Description Sven Gothel 2010-03-24 07:45:29 CET

---- Reported by orangytang 2003-06-24 01:34:24 ----

A GLCanvas was placed in the center of a borderLayout, and two JToolBars were
added to the surounding sections. This renderers correctly. However if the tool bars
are dragged and re-docked to another position then the entire app will crash with
an access violation. This appears to be triggered by the resizing of the canvas.

Code is attached which causes the problem. The system used is a GeForce2 GTS,
with current drivers (v44.03).

This bug is very old and the JOGL code base now properly supports OpenGL context
creation and destruction. I attempted to reproduce the failure described by the
submitter but was unable to. However, the attached test case does not behave
completely correctly; the JToolBars are occasionally overwritten by the
GLCanvas. I'm not sure whether this is another instance of the problem where
GLCanvas doesn't behave like Swing components in respecting minimum, maximum and
preferred sizes but I'm leaving this bug open so we can investigate those problems.

I'm closing this bug as "works for me" at this point and just opened Issue 135
to track the issue of GLCanvas respecting setMinimum/Preferred/MaximumSize to
interact better with Swing widgets.
