The thread http://www.javagaming.org/forums/index.php?topic=15989.0 indicates
that the GLBufferStateTracker, needed for catching misuse of the VBO/PBO-related
entry points, is producing too much garbage.

Can't access the forum post anymore,
but if this is due to the 'autoboxing' due to the IntegerHashMap
this issue is solved using the new primitive type hash map.
