20130420 19:32:48 <sgothel> debian wheeze still has no multiarch crosscompiler in repos :( - back to kubuntu .. using 12.10 now for jenkins nodes

20130420 19:42:50 <hharrison> really? I thought multiarch was a big focus this time around...cross compilers weren't a part of that?
20130420 19:43:25 <sgothel> multiarch - they have, you can properly install all client libs etc, i.e. on amd64 machine, i386, armel, armhf ..
20130420 19:43:33 <sgothel> but - not the cross compiler :(
20130420 19:44:17 <sgothel> I found some docs about how to do it yourself - and sure I know that cross stuff since Dan Kegel's crosstools - but I don't wanne maintain that now anymore :)
20130420 19:44:53 <sgothel> too bad - I really would base our cross builds on debian .. well, maybe next testing pre-8 ..
20130420 19:44:57 <hharrison> doesn't debian embedded maintain their own packages you can drop in?
20130420 19:45:25 <sgothel> there is such a thing, it's performed manually .. quite old stuff, couldn't find armhf .. and is _not_ multiarch
20130420 19:45:34 <sgothel> so all this would involve lots of fidling ..
20130420 19:46:06 <sgothel> I spend like 5hrs last night w/ kubuntu's and debians .. - duh :(
20130420 19:46:38 <sgothel> reason to test on diff repo was actually an XCB failure w/ ATI propr. driver :)
20130420 19:46:47 <hharrison> good grief
20130420 19:47:26 <sgothel> but I always wanted to move to debian .. so maybe when they have impl. their 'papers' .. of multiarch-crosscompile .. ubuntu did that though (yes, based on debian's ideas)
20130420 19:47:43 <sgothel> I guess issue is debian's policy to _not_ crosscompile for a distribution
20130420 19:48:08 <sgothel> i.e. they compile all on the actual target - which is ofc no option for our resources .. like 1-2 hours of compile time :)
20130420 19:48:20 <sgothel> Xerxes did that in ac100 though :)
