20140116 11:49:12 <gouessej> Thank you Xerxes
20140116 11:49:18 <gouessej> great changes :)
20140116 11:49:27 <gouessej> I've just looked at your commits
20140116 11:52:59 <xranby> gouessej: cheers!
20140116 11:53:27 <gouessej> Has anyone tried to build JogAmp APIs with Java 1.7 update 51?
20140116 11:53:34 <xranby> the tests/jogl/SwingJoglTest still have some layout issues using the JoglAWTCanvas
20140116 11:53:41 <xranby> i have not looked into that
20140116 11:54:11 <xranby> the JoglAppletTest work correctly
20140116 11:54:13 <xranby> now
20140116 11:54:32 <xranby> (12:54:50) gouessej: Has anyone tried to build JogAmp APIs with Java 1.7 update 51? <- no i have not.. does it work?
20140116 11:54:57 <gouessej> I don't know but we'll probably get a warning as we don't use a TSA
20140116 11:56:11 <gouessej> The timestamping authority has to match with the trusted certificate. If you ask a timestamp to Verisign but without having bought it a certificate, it won't work
20140116 11:56:18 <xranby> more madness (tm)
20140116 11:56:22 <gouessej> yes :(
20140116 11:56:59 <gouessej> TUER can't be run with the latest update :(
20140116 11:57:35 <xranby> first time i hear about time stamp authoritys
20140116 11:59:14 <xranby> how many applets can be run after this latest update? i get less than 0.1%
20140116 11:59:23 <xranby> guess
20140116 11:59:49 <xranby> icedtea-web still work
20140116 12:00:10 <xranby> jogamp and icedtea-web have started to become friends now
20140116 12:00:14 <gouessej> only applets and applications already using a "trusted" certificate
20140116 12:00:31 <gouessej> Weren't we already friends?
20140116 12:00:41 <xranby> bugs are resolved
20140116 12:00:57 <xranby> thus we have some workaround for older icedtea-web inside jogamp
20140116 12:01:13 <xranby> and icedtea-web have added mixed mode support in the latest version
20140116 12:01:18 <gouessej> There were some troubles in applets
20140116 12:01:27 <gouessej> nice
20140116 12:01:36 <xranby> thus it is now possible to use unsigned applets in combination with signed jogamp jars
20140116 12:02:24 <gouessej> Ok but actually, unsigned applets are almost unusable without changes in the deployment rules set or in the exception site list
20140116 12:04:22 <gouessej> Will icedtea-web follow the new security requirements?
20140116 12:06:20 <xranby> i dont know
20140116 12:06:27 <xranby> i will monitor the discussion
20140116 12:06:38 <xranby> afaik icedtea-web got its own security guidelines
20140116 12:07:05 <gouessej> I will be forced to buy a certificate anyway
20140116 12:07:22 <xranby> http://icedtea.classpath.org/wiki/IcedTea-Web#Security_Notes
20140116 12:07:38 <xranby> This page attempts to describe the security policies/models used by IcedTea-Web, with notes where this policy is different from that of the proprietary plguin/javaws.
20140116 12:09:09 <xranby> http://icedtea.classpath.org/wiki/Extended_Applets_Security
20140116 12:10:53 <xranby> the latest changes to these policys are currently only found on the distro-pkg-dev mailinglist and inside the source code
20140116 12:11:51 <gouessej> ok thanks
20140116 12:14:16 <gouessej> I like how they talk about the security changes
20140116 12:14:34 <gouessej> "To keep this illusion of security"
20140116 12:16:13 <xranby> :)
20140116 12:18:02 <gouessej> I have found only 2 free of charge TSA: http://tsa.safecreative.org and http://timestamping.edelweb.fr/service/tsp

20140116 17:26:41 <gudy> Hi, I'm trying to use the GLMediaPlayer on OSX, and I can't get it to work. I'm a little bit confused about the requirements. Do I simply need ffmpeg in my PATH, or do I need all the libav* shared libraries to be installed ? Where would be the source code for the native side of the player ?
