20150918 06:54:07 <elect> I can download a copy from the bay and put it in a vm, would it be useful?

20150918 07:06:38 <sgothel> @elect .. seems the reporter has the issue also on other windows machines, see last comments from me .. but thank you for offering help
20150918 07:07:39 <sgothel> if anybody knows how to gather the 'execute file' permission via ACL's and the security policies .. i.e. w/o attempting to execute a file .. that would be great, see bug report comments ..
20150918 07:08:06 <elect> what about asking on stackOverflow or MS forums?
20150918 07:08:56 <sgothel> well .. sure I looked at things .. have to check whether some CheckAuth API may be sufficient
20150918 07:09:25 <elect> how can I test?
20150918 07:09:31 <elect> there is a test case?
20150918 07:09:43 <sgothel> since nobody else had any issues yet .. curious why reporter has those .. sporadic
20150918 07:09:46 <elect> the link is in the comments on bugzilla?
20150918 07:10:17 <sgothel> sgothel: also see https://jogamp.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1015#c2
20150918 07:10:37 <sgothel> ^ that is the security policy change to forbid to execute a file

20150918 07:11:05 <elect> hi
20150918 07:11:05 <sgothel> since you cannot set an ACL on a folder to not allow its content to be executed in the future .. duh
20150918 07:11:12 <sgothel> goody
20150918 07:13:57 <elect> I just have to download and run the INSANE BETA linked at the end, don't I?
20150918 07:20:55 <sgothel> I don't care about his use case .. i.e. packaging etc, I assume he tested JOGL standalone as well? Or I make wrong assumptions here .. hmm .. let me double check, i.e. ask him whether he can produce the issue w/ a pure JOGL test.
20150918 07:25:40 <sgothel> https://jogamp.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1219#c22 .. oh dear

20150918 08:05:53 <xranby_f22> elect: the best way to solve the packaging is to offer them a patch, their project is GPLv2
20150918 08:06:21 <xranby_f22> however would be nice to know the root cause .. yes
20150918 08:06:24 <elect> what are you referring to?

20150918 08:18:08 <xranby_f22> it is very nice that they have made the tool GPLv2
20150918 08:19:35 <xranby_f22> elect: can you find a button to trigger       at br.ufmg.dees.insane.ui.rich.full.OpenNewPlaneGeoModelCommand.execute(OpenNewPlaneGeoModelCommand.java:104) ?
20150918 08:20:00 <elect> what you mean can you find
20150918 08:20:15 <elect> I should scan their code to get what is trigger what
20150918 08:20:31 <elect> it's a 150mb zipped project
20150918 08:20:55 <xranby_f22> that sould do br.ufmg.dees.insane.ui.rich.full.OpenNewPlaneGeoModelCommand.execute(OpenNewPlaneGeoModelCommand.java:104) ->   br.ufmg.dees.insane.ui.rich.full.OpenNewPlaneGeoModelCommand.execute(OpenNewPlaneGeoModelCommand.java:104) ->  br.ufmg.dees.insane.ui.rich.geo.view.GeoJOGLView.<init>(GeoJOGLView.java:54) -> ... -> exception
20150918 08:21:09 <elect> I guess the best would be asking the guy
20150918 08:22:53 <xranby_f22> woudl be nice to know the url to the real svn, the websvn do not reveal it :/

20150918 09:20:39 <sgothel> no 'english' button on that INSANE page .. duh
20150918 09:20:56 <sgothel> when I read 'UFmG' I read 'OMFG' first :)
20150918 09:22:53 <sgothel> finite elements .. structural analysis .. sounds nice, too bad its all unreadable to me :-/
20150918 09:23:51 <xranby_f22> sgothel: the svn link above work, project compiles using maven, run using eclipse the appication UI have an english mode
20150918 09:24:04 <xranby_f22> i am running it now on my fedora 22 system
20150918 09:24:15 <sgothel> *run using eclipse* .. autch
20150918 09:24:36 <sgothel> great that you try this one out though ..
20150918 09:24:47 <xranby_f22> br.ufmg.dees.insane.ui.rich.full.Insane <- main method
20150918 09:25:14 <sgothel> so when its clear, its not our fault (that bug) .. we can mark it INVALID .. I guess/hope so :)
20150918 09:26:03 <xranby_f22> i have not tested on windows howerver
20150918 09:34:50 <xranby_f22> hmm tehre is actually something odd.. if i try to open the XYZplot on my fedora 22 system then it tries to initialize opengl and fail to find the jogamp natives.. hoever they use jogamp jars from their own maven repository hmm
20150918 09:35:10 <xranby_f22> if i unpack all the jogamp natives from the fat jar then it picks up the natives
20150918 09:35:20 <xranby_f22> thus yes something odd with their setup
20150918 09:35:38 <xranby_f22> that interfear with the automatic native loading in jogl
20150918 09:36:33 <xranby_f22> you have to clock on XYZPlot to trigger the issue
20150918 09:36:40 <xranby_f22> using the insane application
20150918 09:36:51 <xranby_f22> click
20150918 09:38:45 <xranby_f22> this is what I see after launching the main class br.ufmg.dees.insane.ui.rich.full.Insane from inside eclipse and pressing the XYZPlot text on the "windmill" welcome screen: Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: Can't load library: /home/familjen/insane/br.ufmg.dees.insane.ui.rich.full/natives/linux-amd64//libgluegen-rt.so

20150918 09:40:47 <sgothel> phew .. :)
20150918 09:41:03 <sgothel> so similar as Julien's suggestion ..

20150918 09:42:05 <xranby_f22> yes they have not included gluegen-rt-2.3.2-rc-natives-linux-amd64.jar in their maven
20150918 09:42:24 <xranby_f22> they have done their own maven packaging
20150918 09:42:25 <sgothel> ok .. so another issue here
20150918 09:42:41 <sgothel> a windows only java app :)
20150918 09:43:00 <xranby_f22> they claim they make a .sh file for linux
20150918 09:43:09 <xranby_f22> when they ship their app
20150918 09:43:24 <xranby_f22> but that looks like some manual process

20150918 09:54:19 <xranby_f22> i want you to feel proud
20150918 09:54:26 <xranby_f22> and then i want you to be humble
20150918 09:54:26 <elect> Im good at that
20150918 09:54:31 <xranby_f22> great
20150918 09:54:35 <elect> :p
20150918 09:55:15 <elect> let's see what he replies..
20150918 10:05:59 <xranby_f22> sgothel: btw, the issues i had yesterday with my raspberry pi gpu was power supply related, if you see a "rainbow" square in the upper right corner on the Pi then it is an indication that the firmware has detected a voltage dip, the pu will then try save itself by trottle the cpu and gpu , however these voltage dips sometimes crashes the GPU
20150918 10:06:13 <xranby_f22> sgothel: i solved the issue by using a different 5v powersource
20150918 10:06:55 <xranby_f22> thus the statup issue i experienced was caused by a GPU brownout due to my hardware having too many usb + screens + io boards + etc attached
20150918 10:07:53 <xranby_f22> thus good to know.. "rainbow square in upper right corner of the screen" === power issues fix it before debugging further
20150918 10:11:30 <xranby_f22> https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=82373 - Under-voltage warnings red = over voltage rainbow = under voltage
20150918 10:12:27 <xranby_f22> sorry.. red == over temperature
20150918 10:13:01 <xranby_f22> i was wondering before who drew those squares in the corner and why

20150918 12:04:01 <elect> I guess I found a bug in glTexSubImage3D
20150918 12:06:35 <elect> wait
20150918 12:09:11 <elect> yep
20150918 12:09:21 <elect> it's buggy
20150918 12:09:40 <elect> void glTexSubImage3D(GLenum target, GLint level, GLint xoffset, GLint yoffset, GLint zoffset, GLsizei width, GLsizei height, GLsizei depth, GLenum format, GLenum type, const GLvoid * data);
20150918 12:10:03 <elect> " For three-dimensional textures, the z index refers to the third
20150918 12:10:03 <elect> dimension. For two-dimensional array textures, the z index refers to
20150918 12:10:03 <elect> the slice index."
20150918 12:13:31 <elect> target is GL_TEXTURE_2D_ARRAY, then when I pass (256, 256, 2) 2 refers to the layer
20150918 12:13:44 <elect> but I get Caused by: java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: Required 131072 remaining bytes in buffer, only had 65536
20150918 12:13:55 <elect> texture is array_r8_unorm.dds, TARGET_2D_ARRAY, storage: [2, 0, 8], INTERNAL_R8U, level 0 (256, 256), EXTERNAL_RED_INTEGER, TYPE_U8
20150918 12:13:55 <elect> (SWIZZLE_RED, SWIZZLE_ZERO, SWIZZLE_ZERO, SWIZZLE_ONE)
20150918 12:15:11 <elect> so basically it misunderstands the third dimension and counts 256*256*2=131072 instead loading a 2d 256x256 image at layer 2
20150918 12:21:25 <Eclesia> :D first ktx image displayed \o/
